The Food Connection

The Food Connection: Connecting Farmers and ChefsThe Event!
The Food Connection is an annual gathering designed to foster collaboration between farmers, ranchers, chefs, retailers and processors committed to expanding and strengthening regional and sustainable agriculture.

Our goal is to grow the supply and demand for locally produced food by bringing food businesses together for a day of learning, discussion and networking. The conference focuses on creating and sustaining relationships between growers and buyers. It offers participants an opportunity to learn, make connections, address challenges, and eat an outstanding all-local lunch.

The Food Connection is held annually;

The Food Connection directory is a resource for food businesses to buy or sell locally produced food.
 Participating farms are categorized by products they sell. This makes it simple for a chef is able to look up a product, such as onions, and obtain contact information for the farms that grow onions.

Details about the farm's size, distance they are willing to travel to make deliveries, and farming practices are also included. Farmers or specialty food producers can also use the directory to sell product. The restaurants listed have already expressed an interest in buying directly, so they aren't making a cold call. Details about the restaurant include volume of product used weekly, best times to contact the chef, and kitchen phone number.
